We have chosen the Banana Tree for its versatility. Not only are bananas a super food, containing vital nutrients to keep the doctor away, the culinary uses of the leaves, flowers and stem of the tree are espoused around the world.
Banana fibre which is acquired from the pseudo-stem (pseudo because it is made up of overlapping leaf sheaths) is processed into packaging material, paper and even textiles. We have chosen to use banana fibre boxes to pack our jewellery and leather accessories.
Handcrafted by a community of artisans based at Ruaka Town situated in the outskirts of Nairobi, our banana fibre gift boxes further lend to our creative process. We are conscious of our impact on those who are a part of our journey. Their stories are imprinted on every box they make and in turn our brand is honoured by their talent and authenticity.
